Works with multiple plants and personnel managing projects to successful conclusions. Performs engineering design evaluations and works to complete projects within budget and scheduling restraints, meeting stakeholder expectations.
Reviews reports of production, malfunction, and maintenance to determine or address problems with site engineers. Provides technical support for the engineering process.
Reviews industry policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance. MUST BE ABLE TO TRAVEL 50%
- Researches new materials, capital equipment and manufacturing methods.
- Facilitates the definition of business requirements, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
- Develops cost justifications, Coordinates / Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking, analysis and deliverables.
- Works closely with internal cross-functional teams, contractors, suppliers, or outside vendors to achieve desired results.
- Develop overall implementation and communication strategies. Reviews and manages project progress, costs, and schedules.
- Regularly communicates project status to management.
- Reviews business process problems and proactively provides solutions. Makes independent decisions on a daily basis.
- May generate and manage requests for information and proposals with external technology consulting vendors.
- Develops return on investment analysis.
- Provides hands-on execution of all improvement projects; cost, process, quality, sourcing, etc.
- Creates and implements project work plans.
- Utilizes statistical tools such as SPC, DOE and Cpk to establish process capabilities for all manufacturing processes.
- Defines the requirement for assembly tooling, fixtures and equipment.
- Identifies needs and resources.
- Assigns individual responsibilities
- Involved in the day-to-day operational aspects of projects.
- Minimizes exposure to risk on projects.
- Facilitates meetings effectively.
- Identifies and resolves issues skillfully and in a timely manner.
- Responsible for seamless project implementations and transitions.
- Keeps abreast of emerging technology and industry practices.
- Travel will be necessary while managing projects in multiple locations.
- Performs other responsibilities as assigned by division Director of Engineering.
Qualifications
- 4 year relevant Engineering degree
- 5 years operations experience in a hands-on engineering role.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Successful experience in Lean Sigma or ability to be GB certified within 12 months
- Demonstrated ability to engage cross-functional teams
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access & MS Project.
