Mechatronics Engineer

As a Mechatronics Engineer at Basile Studio, you will play a pivotal role in
designing and developing interactive architectural solutions that captivate, inform, and
entertain. You will collaborate with teams of designers, fabricators and
engineers to bring our vision to life, creating immersive experiences that push the
boundaries of interactive architecture.

Responsibilities
- Conceptualize, design, and implement mechatronic systems for interactive architectural installations.
- Collaborate with architects and designers to integrate mechatronic elements seamlessly into architectural spaces.
- Develop interactive control systems, sensor arrays, and feedback mechanisms to enhance user experiences.
- Program and configure microcontrollers, PLCs, and other control devices.
- Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure the reliability and functionality of interactive systems.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in interactive architecture.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams.
- Contribute to project documentation, including schematics, manuals, and user guides.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Onsite troubleshooting and installation travel
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in mechatronics engineering, with a focus on interactive architecture.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C / C++, Python, or Java.
- Experience with microcontrollers (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi) and PLCs.
- Strong knowledge of sensors, actuators, and control systems.
- Familiarity with CAD software for mechanical design (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a creative mindset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Experience with UL listing highly preferred
- Excellent skills in circuits, electrical theory and implementation.
- Available to travel during maintenance and troubleshooting of items onsite
