WORK OBJECTIVE
Assists with the preparation, implementation and monitoring of community recreation programs including instructional, enrichment, social, cultural arts, wellness, and special interest programming as well as facility rentals and community events.
Work is performed under close supervision with minimum latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgement.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED; supplemented by some experience in recreation; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and / or experience.
Must have First Aid, Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External (AED) certifications within three (3) months of hire.
Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements), or obtain within one year of employment.
Must have a valid Florida Driver's license with a satisfactory driving record throughout employment.
In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Various positions available in the Parks and Recreation Department. In order to move on to the next phase of the application screening process, you must attach proof of education.
Applicants who demonstrate they meet the minimum requirements may be subject to an extensive selection process and screening program, which may include, but not be limited to, evaluation of training and experience background investigation;
medical evaluation; controlled substance screen.
Applicants are required to sign an affidavit for non-use of tobacco products in order to be considered for employment.
