About The Position
Job Title : Nurse Practitioner Job Specialty : Neonatology Job Duration : Full-Time Shift : 24-Hour Daily Rounds; In-House Rounds During the Day and Call from Home Guaranteed Hours : Not specified Experience : 2+ years of employment experience as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) License : North Carolina license (or willing to obtain) Certifications : Board Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) Must-Have : Master’s Degree and / or Doctorate in Nursing- Current APRN National Specialty Certification- Board Certified NNP (Family Nurse Practitioner, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, or any other NP certifications not accepted)- 2+ years of experience as a NNP (RN experience not included) Job Description : Play a leadership role in a brand new, 10-bed Level-I Nursery.
- Participate in an anticipated 600 deliveries per year with an average daily census of about 5 newborns.- Conduct daily rounds on newborns in-house during the day and take call from home.
- Attend deliveries when requested and be responsible for the stabilization, management, and facilitation of transport of newborns to adjacent NICUs for higher-level care.
- Be part of a collaborative team consisting of other NNPs and neonatologists.- Opportunities may be available for supplemental PRN shifts in a Level III NICU, though this is not required.
