Overview of job
Responsibilities and duties
- Reads and interprets fabrication construction drawings
- Maintains equipment and ensures work area is clean and safe at all times
- Performs basic preventative maintenance on saw equipment
- Operates all saws and use of forklift
- Cuts steel raw materials to include Standard Channels, Standard Beams, Wide Flange Beams, Square Structural Tubing, Rectangular Structural Tubing, Steel Angle, Steel Flat Bar, and other specialized materials as needed
- Positions properly all metal pieces for cutting (may operate multiple machines at the same time)
- Adjusts controls to set depth and speed of all cuts
- Performs quality control inspections on finished cut products
- Conducts other related duties as assigned or requested
Qualifications
- Bilingual speaking English / Spanish preferred
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Knowledge of Trade tools, equipment, materials, tape measure, methods and techniques used in safe band saw operation
- Ability to lift and / or move up to 75 pounds
- Remains calm and in control under pressure
Education / Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years related industrial saw operation experience
