The Department of Epidemiology seeks a dynamic individual to join our faculty as a Public Health Informatics (PHI) faculty member.

This tenure-leading position offers an exciting opportunity to develop and lead a vibrant Public Health Informatics program within an established and well-respected Department of Epidemiology.
The successful candidate will be able to contribute to cutting-edge research, teach innovative courses, and engage in meaningful service activities that benefit the public health community. Required Qualifications
- PhD or similar in Public Health Epidemiology, Informatics, Information Science, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching at the graduate level.
- A record of scholarship in public health informatics, evidenced by publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Experience with informatics solutions, data science, data integration, analysis, and visualization tools relevant to public health.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Supplemental Qualifications
- Experience preparing proposals and securing external research funding.
- Experience with querying complex databases (SQL & NoSQL ideally)
- Experience working with common sources of public health data (Registries, National Surveys, Medicare / Medicaid claims, Health Records, etc.)
- Proficiency in data visualization software? PowerBI, Tableau, etc.
- Experience with public health informatics practice and policy issues governance), preferably in a health department or healthcare organization.
- Fluency in statistical programming languages R, SAS).
- Experience with public health information systems
