Position Title : Carpenter / Installer (Temp to Hire)
Reports to : Construction Manager
Travel : Domestic travel is required as projects are assigned
Summary / Objective :
A Carpenter / Installer is a professional who is responsible for assisting skilled workers in all aspects of implementing the project scope of work for installing refrigeration cooler panels for freezers, coolers, steel, and construction work.
These professionals help the workers in construction and maintenance work and will work on industrial or supermarket climate-control systems, refrigerated case equipment and refrigerated storage units.
These candidates do not plan construction or repair work but work under the supervision of other workers and follow their directions.
These candidates should be very skillful and must have detailed knowledge about their work area. All employees are responsible for representing Cool Runnings North America (CRNA), the customers, employees, and contracted laborers in a professional manner.
Carpenter / Installer job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following :
1. Assists workers during construction, maintenance and repair work, including but not limited to assisting on receiving refrigeration equipment onsite, be able to read prints and understand legends to accurately install the cooler box equipment.
2. Follows manufacturer and customer specifications ensuring the system is installed as designed.
3. Helps in other areas including refrigeration and electrical trades as needed.
4. Follow all safety and precautionary measures while handling carpentry tools and use them appropriately wherever they are required.
5. Effectively works as per direction to meet stipulated deadlines of projects.
6. Interacts with fellow workers to thoroughly understand the requirements, to complete the work as per project needs while learning and getting familiar with industry regulations.
7. Performs a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in construction projects.
8. Essential skills include dexterity, stamina, attention to details, good numeric skills, communication and teamwork.
9. Maintains a clean job site, picks up all tools and equipment and secures job site each day to eliminate potential hazards, remove debris from construction site.
10. Performs materials handling and storage.
11. Loads and unloads trucks and hauls and hoists materials.
12. Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Brings problems to the attention of the supervisor / foreman.

Requirements :
1. High School Diploma or Equivalent
2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
3. Knowledge of construction industry concepts, practices, and procedures
4. Familiar with construction sites, use of small tools, safety protocols and equipment
5. Perform work according to OSHA safety standards
6. Ability to work positively under supervision, prioritize workflow while manage time
7. Forklift certified (preferred)

The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust.
Employee must have physical strength, hand-eye coordination, and endurance. It is essential for the employee to be able to concentrate on tasks with the ability to understand and communicate information.
This position is very active and requires standing for long periods of time, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching.
The employee must frequently lift and / or move items over 50 pounds and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.
The position also requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee must have excellent stamina, strength and endurance.
