About The Position
Job Title : Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Job Specialty : Rehabilitation Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Days, 8 hours, 32-40 hours per week Guaranteed Hours : Not specified Experience : 1 year of Physical Therapy experience required;
LTC or Rehab experience required License : Physical Therapist Assistant license required Certifications : CPR certification required Must-Have : Compliance with required licenses and certifications Job Description : - Implement components of patient care and obtain data related to treatments provided.
- Collaborate with the Physical Therapist to modify care as necessary for effective treatment outcomes. - Assist in the treatment of individuals of all ages, from newborns to end-of-life care.
- Help patients stretch and exercise specific muscle groups as needed. - Follow instructions from the Physical Therapist for patient care.
- Work directly with the Physical Therapist to assist patients in their therapy regimen. - Communicate with families to determine effective at-home techniques for ongoing patient support.
- Maintain a clean and organized physical therapy area for patient safety and efficiency. - Assist in moving patients from wheelchairs or walkers to the therapy area safely.
- Complete administrative tasks including scheduling appointments and filing paperwork. - Teach patients techniques such as balance training to aid in their physical rehabilitation.
