PTS is responsible for the administration, operation and maintenance of reliable and efficient transportation services on the Twin Cities campus.
Key responsibilities of this role include configuring, installing, monitoring, upgrading, and maintaining IT systems, software, hardware, and servers that are critical to the operations of PTS.

Job Responsibilities :
Administers implementation and operation of parking access and revenue control system (PARCS) components and servers. This also includes Parking and Transportation Services (PTS) parking facility lane administration and support.
Collaborates with vendor and business resources to integrate PARCS with existing systems.
Participates in on-call rotation which involves carrying a communication device and responding to critical system issues during non-business hours to resolve production problems.
Configures, installs, monitors, upgrades, and maintains IT systems software, hardware, and servers. Maintains operating efficiency and stability, security and integrity of all data and systems.
Performs administration of basic user access, optimizes remote access and security access. Plans, designs, and schedules the release and updates of all software, hardware, and operating systems.
Develops minor programming (Powershell; Bash), automation, and scripting to support business continuity and operations.
Administers workstation and printer support. This includes : OS installs for workstations and laptops, user profile create and application installs, troubleshooting, applying workstation and server patches.
Provides proactive server administration and maintenance support. This includes the review of OS logs, Splunk dashboards, and vulnerability management (Qualys).
Provides resolution to incidents and problems, including the creation of post-mortem documentation, detailed root cause analysis, and process modification in response to service outages and failures.
Aligns to change management processes and standards and follow those procedures when making any changes.
Interacts with Product Owners and customers to ensure functional service requirements are met with proper technical resources.
Optimizes and monitors performance metrics using standard tools, autonomously responding to trends as appropriate to maintain or exceed expected performance.
Performs scheduled maintenance activities including planned work outside of business hours.
Keeps current on industry standards, emerging technologies such as cloud-based application solutions for parking and security camera options and business frameworks.
Develop, perform, and document tests for systems / servers and databases.
Other duties as assigned.
Work Environment : This is a hybrid position, sharing time between on-site and remote work. On-site expectations are approximately four days per week, but can vary depending on business needs and coordinating on-site coverage with your peers.
Core hours are 7 : 00 am 3 : 30 pm and other times as needed to meet business needs.
Compensation : $70k - 84k
Qualifications
Required Qualifications (must be documented on resume) :
BA / BS degree and two years of experience in the areas of system / server administration or a comparable combination of education, training, and / or experience.
TCP / IP (including understanding of IPv4, IPv6, routing and firewalls), Ethernet and fiber networking understanding.
Preferred Qualifications :
Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication.
Project leadership experience with small to intermediate system / server enhancements and upgrades.
Familiarity with Voice over IP (VoIP), digital video intercom systems, and Internet of Things (IoT) devices.
Demonstrated ability to administer Windows and Linux servers (and other operating systems, as needed).
Demonstrated ability to administer databases.
Administrative familiarity with parking access and revenue control systems (PARCS; Amano McGann, Skidata, TIBA, and HUB are all local to the Twin Cities market)
