tarrantcounty.com / en / human-resources / employee-benefits.htmlEssential Duties and Responsibilities1. Performs simple to highly complex computerized diagnostic testing / evaluations using any appropriate equipment to diagnose and repair vehicles and equipment2.
Inspects, troubleshoots and repairs all vehicles and vehicular related equipment assigned to the precinct or other County facility / unit3.
Tests equipment for safe and efficient operation4. Directs the work of other mechanics or helpers, teaching / instructing them in the appropriate procedures and practices.
Relays instructions from supervisors5. May drive such vehicles as winch trucks to haul equipment6. Makes road calls and either repairs equipment in the field or transports equipment safely to the repair facility7.
Orders or requests the acquisition of required parts and supplies for assigned projects / tasks8. Designs, fabricates and builds special projects for vehicles and equipment9.
