Aerial Lineman/Coax Splicer - Lexington, KY

TekCom Resources is seeking an Aerial Lineman / Coax Splicer for a permanent-hire role with a fast-growing telecom construction company in the Lexington, Kentucky market!

As Aerial Lineman / Coax Splicer, you will be part of a crew engaged in "strand-and-lash" aerial telecom construction in and around Lexington;

additionally, you will be engaged in coax splicing as needed. Your work will take you up to two hours away from town, so a good driving record is required for this role.

There is a potential for some evening work depending on need, but the bulk of your work will be during daytime hours. There will be a company vehicle available for driving to and from sites.

Your primary duties will involve :

• Employing equipment necessary for set up and execution of aerial fiber construction, including a bucket truck, caddies, and strand / fiber trailer.
• Assisting crew in completing projects.
• Splicing hung coax cabling.
• Ensure safe construction by maintaining adequate clearances from other utilities, roads, etc.
• Oversight of and assistance with lashing / overlashing of cable.
• Climbing poles via ladders or gaffs when necessary.
• Reading and understanding fiber construction-oriented prints.

Our client would love to see these traits in your background :

• At least 1-2 years of aerial fiber / cabling installation experience.
• CDL licensure is STRONGLY preferred;candidates may be asked to get licensed through the hiring company once they start.
• Some experience with coax cabling splicing, either aerial OR underground.
• Supervisory experience is not required but it is HIGHLY valuable.
