This position may be filled remotely or in any of our locations.
The Litigation Docket Specialist is responsible for monitoring assigned shared mailboxes and related docket requests and docketing same in a timely manner according to firm guidelines and procedures utilizing the firm’s litigation docketing software.
The Litigation Docket Specialist reports to the Litigation Docket Manager and will assist the Litigation Docket Manager as needed and directed in additional projects within the Docket Team.
Essential job functions include :
Independently docket for designated assignment group (multiple offices and / or practice groups), including : Review and comprehend documents submitted to ensure all deadlines are identified and docketed.
Review court and / or agency dockets as needed.Verify jurisdiction, court / venue, and relevant authorities.Verify the accuracy of docketed items and deadlines generated.
Ensure the accuracy of timekeepers assigned to matters.
- Create, review, and distribute accurate matter reports.
- Research statutory, agency, court, and individual judges’ rules and practices and apply them appropriately.
- Respond professionally and constructively to requests from timekeepers and staff regarding docketed dates, agency, and court rules and procedures.
- Collaborate with the Litigation Docket Manager to continually improve the firm’s docketing best practices, policies, and processes.
- Assist the Docket Team with special projects as needed.
- Remain current with developments, procedures, and rules in courts and agencies within the designated assignment group.
Position Requirements
- 2 year degree or Paralegal Certificate; 4 year degree preferred in related field preferred; or combination of education and commensurate work experience required.
- 3-5 years of litigation docketing experience with specific experience using CompuLaw Vision preferred.
- 3-5 years of litigation experience in various federal and state courts that included calculating and calendaring deadlines.
- Strong knowledge of litigation processes, court rules, and procedures.
- Proficient knowledge of federal, state, and local court systems, as well as administrative and government agencies.
- Ability to research and apply statutory / agency and / or court rules and procedures for any jurisdiction.
- Ability to use , PacerPro, and other legal resources and websites to obtain case dockets, rules, and procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe products, and internet research; ability to prepare, export, edit, filter, sort, search, and reformat large spreadsheets within Excel.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical abilities, and resourcefulness.
- Ability to adapt to change and balance competing demands in a fast-paced environment.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skill and experience. The exact compensation will vary based on skills, experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.
The expected compensation ranges for this position in various states and jurisdictions are as follows :
- State of California : $53,000 - $102,000
- State of Colorado : $49,000 - $88,000
- Jersey City, NJ : $58,000 - $105,000
- State of Massachusetts : $53,000 - $102,000
- State of New York : $50,000 - $107,000
- State of Washington : $52,000 - $98,000
- Washington, $69,000 - $101,000
The above salaries do not include a discretionary bonus, however bonus opportunities are non-guaranteed, and are dependent upon individual and firm performance.
