Position Overview :

The Maintenance Mechanic I will be responsible for maintaining and repairing cGMP production equipment, clean utilities, and systems.

With minimal supervision, this role involves operating central plant and utility systems to ensure proper functionality.

Key Responsibilities :

• Perform preventative maintenance following SOPs and work instructions; conduct both planned and unplanned repairs.
• Regularly inspect equipment, monitor systems, and document operational parameters. Make necessary adjustments or modifications and report abnormal findings to the supervisor.
• Work collaboratively with teams on specialized maintenance and equipment projects, including researching methods, implementing changes, and documenting change control.
• Assist in general labor services throughout maintenance areas, providing data for performance metrics and supporting monthly reporting.
• Offer guidance and training to junior staff members.
• Handle ordering of spare and repair parts as needed.
• Complete required training and demonstrate competence in monitoring and performing operational checks on manufacturing equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of designated work areas.
• Complete GMP and other controlled documentation, with responsibilities to revise or draft new procedures as needed.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Metrology, and Engineering teams, and communicate with internal / external customers.
• Adhere to all safety and environmental protocols, promptly reporting any incidents, injuries, or safety concerns.

Qualifications :

Education & Experience :

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 3 years of general maintenance experience, with at least 1-3 years in a cGMP environment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office (Word, Excel).
• Experience with Building Management Control Systems (BMCS).
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Willingness to work overtime, varying shifts, and participate in an On-Call program.
• Familiarity with shop tool operation and safety procedures.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements :

• Schedule may include 4-day (10-hour) shifts, weekend days, evening / night hours, or full off-shift hours.
• Must be able to stand for 8-10 hours and occasionally climb stairs or ladders.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. as required.
• Must comply with cleanroom gowning protocols, including wearing scrubs, bunny suits, gloves, and steel-toe boots. No makeup or jewelry allowed in cleanroom areas.
• May work with hazardous materials and chemicals, requiring the use of protective gear, including air purifying respirators and hearing protection.
• May need to crawl, kneel, or stoop in confined spaces.
