The Job

We are looking for a talented and dedicated Director of Audience Development who can take the reins of managing SportTechie’s audience across editorial, video, social media, newsletters, and podcasts.

As an outside-the-box thinker, incredible storyteller, and analytics-savvy individual, this person should have the ability to balance numerous priorities while having a proactive mindset towards accelerating SportTechie’s audience growth.

One day this Director of Audience Development will work with our Multimedia Producer to strategically publish our latest video content across our social channels, and the next day she or he will work with our Director of Sales to analyze key metrics across our audience channels to help craft a statistically-driven sales narrative.

This person should be a visual-first content creator with social editorial skills and a proven track record of monetizing digital audiences.

You will be empowered to :

  • Work closely with Sales team to transform audience analytics into actionable sales insights.
  • Use storytelling skills to convey SportTechie’s brand to all digital audiences.
  • Execute and manage our daily and weekly newsletters, including database management.
  • Run Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook accounts as well as launch and manage Instagram and Snapchat accounts.
  • Establish and accomplish key audience growth goals.
  • Work closely with content team to produce engaging social content from our editorial and video work.
  • Work with Multimedia Producer to manage creative graphics and images to enhance editorial content.
  • Work with Sales team to create and execute sold campaigns that involve SportTechie’s newsletter and social media content.
  • Manage reporting of audience analytics to the entire team for purposes of KPI tracking and making intelligent editorial and sales decisions.
  • Make sure all public-facing SportTechie copy is pristine and up to date.
  • Make a name for yourself as a sports technology expert and thought leader.

What we are looking for :

  • An entrepreneurial spirit who truly wants to help build SportTechie.
  • Previous success with monetizing digital content across a variety of platforms.
  • 2-3 years experience managing social media accounts at a digital publisher or brand.
  • Success with creating viral content across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat.
  • Experience in growing social and site traffic via engaging readers with creative content.
  • Skilled in PhotoShop, AfterEffects, or other image editing software.
  • Strong understanding of digital media, SEO, social media, and online content strategy.
  • Someone who desires to step in and be an instant team leader.
  • Expertise with Google Analytics and other audience tracking tools across all content channels.
  • Deep understanding of current and emerging social networks.
  • A savvy communicator and detail-oriented individual.
  • Journalistic and editorial skills are a major plus.

Job Location

Work remotely with consistent daily communication with the SportTechie team. Being in a major city is preferred.
