Position Summary :
Opening for an Occupational Therapist in a busy multidisciplinary setting. The position offers the opportunity to work in both outpatient neurological rehabilitation and in acute care settings.
Our outpatient rotation specializes in rehabilitation fora wide variety of diagnoses, with an emphasis on neurologic conditions.
Common referrals include intervention for stroke, concussion, cognition, vision, and pre-driving assessments. Acute care hospital rotation included.
Both inpatient and outpatient neuroexperience preferred.
2 + years experience required, preferably in acute care or outpatient setting. Position includes weekend rotation as well as 1 holiday per year.
Rotations are generally 6 months in outpatient and 6 months in inpatient setting.
The Occupational Therapist is responsible for assuring that the PNHS values are achieved through daily departmental operations.
This includes, but is not limited to, direct patient care, professional growth and development, outcome / competency monitoring, compliance with professional organizations, regulatory standards, and regulatory agencies;
and participating in process improvements to advance patient care outcomes and satisfaction.
The Rehabilitation Services Occupational Therapist will communicate timely, clearly and in a professional manner with staff, patients, patient family members, physicians, and other internal / external customers.
The staff member will demonstrate skills in listening, conflict management, system problem solving, decision-making and process improvement.
Therapists will practice in compliance with professional standards and professional code of ethics.
Therapists in the development track will partner with their leader(s) to discuss ways in which the therapist can improve departmental performance through activities involving community events, presentations, and program / department improvement initiatives.
The therapist will be given protected time to execute these activities.
Participates in basic department development expectations for three professional pursuits, which must be some combination of the following : community event related Park Nicollet, TRIA or clinical profession, a presentation and / or program, project, or committee participation.
Work Schedule :
70 FTE (Part time, benefit eligible). 3 days a week, 1 weekend every 4 weeks, and 1 one holiday.
Required Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy
- Licensed with the Minnesota Department of Health.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Recommend membership in related professional organization such as the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), the Minnesota Occupational Therapy Association (MOTA), or the American Society of Hand Therapists (ASHT).
- Three years’ experience as an occupational therapist.
- Emphasis in a specific area of clinical expertise.
- Exhibit leadership qualities and serves as a professional role model within the clinic as documented in the most recent performance appraisal or resume / interview.
- Proficient with communication and data processing equipment.
- Proficient in clinical apparatus related to area of expertise.
- Proficient in organization electronic medical record software.
