Job Description
- The Machine Design Engineer is responsible for design and development of innovative material handling automation equipment.
- The Machine Design Engineer will be required to create design requirements and specifications for automated equipment including : concept sketches, system timing charts, functional design documentation (FDD), 3D models, fabrication and assembly drawings and BOMs.
- The Machine Design Engineer will calculate critical design parameters including : kinematic motion profiles, power requirements, component failure analysis and component life, deflection stress and strain.
- The Machine Design Engineer will develop prototype test procedures for in-house and field testing and oversee prototype testing.
- A hands-on approach is essential during the prototype development and testing phase, thus the Machine Design Engineer should be experienced with and willing to use hand tools.
- The Machine Design Engineer will remain involved through the prototype deployment process to provide support on technical issues, scope management, system commissioning and troubleshooting.
The Machine Design Engineer will conduct supplier research, participate in supplier selection and interface with suppliers to ensure delivery of materials and components as specified.
