The Division of Advancement and Alumni Engagement utilizes resources, technology, and business for the purpose of constituent engagement, donor research and solicitation, and stewardship throughout Emory University and Health Systems.

We are currently seeking an Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement.

The Campus and Community Engagement team, in the division of Advancement and Alumni Engagement, focuses on creating, coordinating, and managing opportunities for Emory Alumni, students, and constituents to engage with the University, campus, and other alumni through programs and events.

This role will manage and support student-alumni engagement and giving programs, operations, projects, and events. They will develop and implement initiatives to support department goals, cultivate relationships with stakeholders, as well as provide administrative support for activities, while staying abreast of industry trends and best practices in the student giving and engagement space.

This position will report to the Senior Associate Director of Alumni Engagement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

Creates, maintains, and enhances the relationship between the alumni and the University and among alumni themselves.

Executes strategies to recruit, cultivate, and engage alumni through events, programs, and services both locally and nationally.

Plans annual events to strengthen ties with the University such as Alumni weekend, parents' weekend, assembly meetings and class reunions.

Develops alumni clubs and programs in designated territory and assists them in planning and implementing events.

Monitors program budget.

May manage event budgets.

Performs related responsibilities as assigned.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS : In addition to the duties outlined above, the Assistant Director may be required to :

Cultivate and manage relationships with students, student organizations, volunteers, University colleagues and partners, and affinity alumni organizations under close supervision.

Implement communication and / or solicitation plans / methods directed at students on an on-going basis.

Represent designated program / school within the division.

Fosters relationships with other campus offices, schools / divisions, and student entities. Maintain information on selected alumni and prospects including contact reports in CRM system.

Research potential prospects for volunteer and engagement opportunities.

Track, evaluate, and meet program metrics and produce reports on program and event participants to provide an analysis of populations served and directly support achieving goals for respective volunteer programs.

Manage technology / information and master database software and applications with the ability to assess data used to determine the use of resources.

Some night and weekend work is required.

Some travel may be necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

Bachelor's degree and two years of alumni engagement, event planning, public relations or other related experience OR an equivalent combination of experience, education and / or training.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

Successful candidates will possess strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills and possess the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate a complex work environment.

Commitment to delivering excellent customer service, the ability to work collaboratively, and comfort working with ambiguity.

Experience with managing volunteers and events.

Experience working with various technologies including advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, mass email applications, database and project management software, and CRM systems.

Prior experience in advancement, fundraising, alumni engagement, non-profit, or a university setting.

Flexibility to accommodate changing priorities and deadlines.

NOTE : This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department.

This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
