Director of Hardware Engineering Analysis

In this role, you will lead and manage a multi-physics engineering team across various domains from Signal / Power Integrity, Photonics, Mechanical, and Thermals to develop state-of-the-art simulation techniques and establish methodologies to deliver error-free design execution for Lightmatter products from package to systems.
You will be managing a team of at least eight to ten analysts from various disciplines. You will work closely with Package and System Architects to develop cutting-edge technologies to enable AI architectures, setting new industry standards with respect to compute power, performance, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage a cross-disciplinary team of 8 to 10 engineers with expertise across SI / PI, Thermo-mechanical, and Photonic domains
Establish state-of-the-art analysis techniques that deliver accurate, predictable, and high-confidence results
Develop validation techniques and drive appropriate data collection activities to deliver high confidence in analysis outcomes
Establish analysis methodologies and measurement metrologies to ensure error-free, timely package and system design tape-outs
Participate in design reviews at program levels and publish documents to support evidence-based indicators of risk levels at each program level milestone
Participate in technology roadmap discussions. Innovate and optimize through analysis to down-select solutions that meet Lightmatter product requirements
Define group objectives and key results; plans and evaluates group accomplishments
Maintain and develop capabilities by recruiting appropriate talent and continuing to review employee’s skill set requirements & training to meet business needs.

Requirements
M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant field
Minimum of 15 years of proven domain expertise in at least one the following fields : Signal / Power Integrity, Thermals, Mechanical Design, FEA and Photonics
At least 5 years of proven experience in leading and managing a multi-physics engineering analysis team
Proven experience and knowledge of semiconductor packaging technologies; General understanding of 2D / 2.5D & 3D packaging technologies and ability to perform trade-offs across design, manufacturability and reliability
Proven experience in working with vendors and suppliers
Experience in lab scale validation techniques in at least of the domains such as SI / PI, thermals and mechanicals
Proficient user of at least one of the following simulation tools :
Power Integrity : PowerSI, PowerDC, H-Spice and ADS
Thermal / Mechanical : Solidworks / Ansys / Abaqus;
Signal Integrity : Ansys HFSS / Keysight ADS
Knowledge of EDA tools such as Mentor Graphics, Allegro
Understanding of software tools and IT infrastructure requirements

We offer competitive compensation. The base salary range for this role, inclusive of all US locations, is $230,000-$300,000.
Your base salary will be determined based on location, experience, educational background, and market data.
