We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our team at our Mt. Washington location. As a Medical Assistant, you will provide direct care for health center patients including greeting and rooming patients, gathering, and documenting medical information and performing simple procedures under the supervision of a physician or nurse practitioner.
The health center offers a career ladder for the Medical Assistant position that recognizes increased experience, skill level, responsibilities, and certification for Medical Assistants with increased compensation for Levels I ( $16.
50 per hour ) - IV ( $19.50 per hour ).
Primary Responsibilities :
- Greets patients, obtains their medical histories, and verifies patient information
- Prepares patients for physical examinations, including taking vital signs and performing all required testing
- Provides assistance during examinations and treatment
- Performs ancillary testing and tasks as directed by the provider including EKGs, injections, and blood draws
- Conducts pre-visit planning by reviewing and updating patient charts prior to appointment with recent test results and correspondence and determines needed services per health center protocol.
Qualifications :
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
- AS degree preferred.
- CMA preferred.
- CPR required.
Experience :
- Applicable family practice / community health center MA experience desired
- Pediatrics experience is a plus!
