This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.
As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, and engineers (use as appropriate), you will apply standard engineering knowledge and methods to design, plan, model, execution, and interpretation of tests for aerospace systems and components.
Responsible for the execution and analysis of component, subsystem, and integrated vehicle testing to verify requirements and validate operational capabilities.
Development, release, and support of engineering artifacts across the development cycle to support verification, testing, and operations.
Ensures accurate record of measurement data. Provides safe, repeatable, and quality test capabilities that help explore the operational envelope and verify requirements for the current and next generation of aerospace systems.
Ensures testing procedures meet industry standards.

You will be part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts in the Component Testing group at the Engines Manufacturing facility in Huntsville AL.
You will be integrated with the manufacturing team to complete component and final engine testing and verification prior to engine shipment.
This role is a combination of operations, documentation, hands-on work, and system troubleshooting / data analysis. You will be responsible for the operations, work instructions, procedures, design, efficiency, product flow, workstation readiness, and engine quality verifications of the BE4 and BE3u engines.

- B-Shift, typical hours of operation are 3 : 00 pm to 1 : 30 am, Monday through Thursday or a modified schedule of 5 : 00 pm to 1 : 30 am, Monday through Friday

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Ensure work is completed with the highest regard to safety and in accordance with BLUE policies and procedures
Provides task-leadership of a multi-disciplined team of technicians in the scheduling, work planning, organization, and coordination of engine checkouts testing.
Create, update, and maintain clear work instructions for work execution across the testing area
Operate hydraulic, pneumatic, or electronic test equipment
Analyze test data to support requirements verification tasks
Provide technical oversight of systems in the assigned areas of responsibility.
Develop and execute test plans and procedures; perform subsequent data reduction and reviews
Lead daily test operations, operate test consoles, and coordinate with internal customers
Understand and troubleshoot high pressure hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Understand and troubleshoot instrumentation and data collection systems
Perform root cause analysis and failure investigation
Perform system hazard analyses
Plan and oversee facility maintenance of test equipment
Identify and drive opportunities for safety improvements and cost savings
Design, define, procure, and install system components and materials; manage vendors and subcontractors during installation
Proactively prepare status updates and communicates both within the organization and with direct customers
Ensure that each member of the team performs his / her duty to his / her maximum capability.
Demonstrate high standards in test operations and work cooperatively with a diverse team of Integration Engineers, Responsible Engineers and BLUE customers to ensure requirements are met

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of a B.S. degree in either Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
Experience as a Test Conductor or Test Engineer
Experience developing, writing, and improving test procedures
Demonstrated ability and desire to understand complex systems, investigate and solve challenging problems, and work in a dynamic environment
Strong safety mindset and experience
Hands-on experience with hazardous testing with a strong safety record
Ability to clearly communicate status, progress, problems, and solutions to lead engineer
Good verbal and written communication skills (including presentations)
Self-motivated with demonstrated initiative, teamwork, and leadership skills on previous projects / assignments
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with vibe testing and test equipment
Experience in testing with Cryogenic Systems, Hydraulic Systems, and Pneumatic Systems
Experience with liquid fueled rocket engine testing
Experience with P&ID design, hazard analysis, and FMEA
Experience with ground / vehicle launch systems test, operations, and maintenance
Experience with tubing / piping, piping components and instrumentation
