POSITION SUMMARY

Performs repairs on Medium and Heavy duty trucks of any make or model. Has advanced knowledge of all systems associated with these heavy and medium duty trucks.

Achieves and maintains at least one (1) OEM certification that is represented by Branch; which will qualify the technician to perform warranty repairs.

Maintains an acceptable level of efficiency for all repairs in accordance with company standards. Works harmoniously with management, co-workers, and customers to ensure that the customer receives a best-in-class repair experience.

In all actions works to assist all positions within the dealership and department to sell hours.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Has achieved and maintains an OEM certification to perform warranty repairs on OEM Equipment, for an OEM that is represented by the branch.
  • Performs at an 85% efficiency on any OE certified repairs on any 3-month average
  • Can diagnose and perform general repairs on all truck systems.
  • Has the technical ability to mentor other technicians.
  • Has the competencies to complete tasks in any prior technician classification.
  • Possesses prior documentation and / or certification as needed in any prior technician classification.
  • Communicates with co-workers, management, and customers in a professional and positive manner.
  • Presents one’s self with a professional appearance, supports safe working habits, and complies with all company policies.
  • Owns all the tooling needed to perform the repairs associated with their certifications
  • Foster teamwork within the department and with all other departments.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES / ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

Reports directly to the Service Forman or designee

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
  • Three years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Effective written communication skills that allow for every opportunity to sell hours.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex technical documents.
  • Interpersonal skills needed to teach, train and coach new technicians.
