Summary
The Plant Maintenance Manager Is responsible for all physical aspects of the plant including service of electrical and mechanical systems;
maintenance of production equipment, physical plant, utilities, and compliance with applicable policies and regulations
Supervisory Responsibilities :
- Manages, schedules, and coordinates daily work assignments of maintenance, electrical and mechanical operation workers.
- Manager four (4) maintenance support positions and 16 line mechanics
- Conducts performance reviews that are timely and constructive
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Creates, schedules, implements and manages a preventive maintenance program for production machinery and equipment
- Directs the maintenance and operations of various facility systems to ensure uninterrupted service. Covered systems many include electrical, refrigeration, water, steam and compressed gas.
- Suggests, plans and oversees equipment’s needs and acquisitions to maximize production efficiency and return
- Oversees and plans the layout of electrical and mechanical equipment; recommends and implements modifications to facilities
- Provides technical training to management and other team members.
- Coordinates work performed by outside contractors, vendors, and engineering consultants.
- Maintains files of warranties, records, licenses, inspections, service agreements and contracts for various pieces of equipment
- Provides recommendations for purchases of new equipment.
- Collaborates with other appropriate management staff to prepare and implement budget
Required Skills / Abilities
- Thorough understanding of OSHA and EPA regulations as they pertain to plant operation and maintenance
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Thorough understanding of mechanical engineering
- Basic understanding of or ability to quickly learn the equipment and facilities to be maintained.
- Ability to understand written directions in manuals and on manufacturer websites
