Responsibilities
- Complete all required tutoring training and meetings.
- Perform individual and group tutoring in SciTech courses with an emphasis on CHEM, but may also include MATH, PHYS, and BIOL as needed and in alignment with tutor’s skills.
- Assist students in improving study skills and learning strategies.
- Promote self-directed learning and independent learners.
- Refer students as needed to other Center or campus resources.
- Complete required documentation of each tutoring session.
- Assist in Center marketing efforts.
- Complete other tasks as needed related to general management of the LEAD Center.
Minimum Qualifications
- institutional GPA and in good academic standing.
- At least sophomore standing and not a first-semester freshman.
- Ability to dedicate at least 5 hours per week (about two days per week).
- A or B in any course you tutor.
- Recommendation from a CURRENT Fairmont State faculty member in your subject area.
