Certified Nursing Assistant Position Summary
Under the direction of the Nurse, performs sub-professional duties including providing patient care to meet the needs of activities of daily living;
operation and maintenance of equipment. Assumes the responsibility for meeting the basic needs of all patients assigned.
Provides care to a patient population ranging from infant to geriatric, unless otherwise indicated.
- Takes and records vital signs and I / Os.
- Assists licensed staff and physicians as directed within approved standards.
- Performs other related duties as directed.
- Works collaboratively with the health care team, is customer focused and strives to meet unit and hospital goals.
- Provides quality care according to established practice standards and guidelines for the area(s) assigned.
- Performs and coordinates the clerical and public relations functions for the unit, as well as coordinating patient services and tests provided by the other ancillary hospital departments;
acts as unit receptionist receiving and directing visitors.
Assumes the responsibility for correctly transcribing orders on all patients assigned.
Must be willing / able to float to other (comparable) nursing units, as requested / needed.
Positions available for Nights and Evening shifts within departments across the facility.
THE CNA CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE / CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.

Minimum Education : High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum Experience : Minimum of six months of work experience preferred.
Required Certifications / Registrations / Licenses : CNA (Must obtain South Carolina CNA within 6 months of hire date), and / or completion of Nursing Fundamentals from an accredited Nursing Curriculum with the intention to complete a nursing degree required.
American Heart Association BLS CPR certification required.
Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision.
Typically reports to a registered nurse or supervisor.
Education :
Required : High school diploma or GED.
Experience :
Required : 3 years of experience in a medical setting. Familiarity with medical terminology and laboratory data.
Preferred : 5 years of experience as a nursing assistant or clerical staff in a medical environment.
Certifications : Required : AHA BLS.
Required : AHA BLS.
Physical Demands :
