Assistant Controller - Banking background
As the Assistant Controller, you will play a critical role in overseeing the financial operations and reporting processes.
You will work closely with the Controller and finance team to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all accounting functions.
This role requires a strong background in public accounting, a CPA certification, and a minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting roles within the banking sector.

Description
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of financial statements.
- Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline accounting processes and improve internal controls.
- Support external audits and regulatory examinations by providing documentation and explanations as needed.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Provide leadership and guidance to junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on financial services clients.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and regulatory requirements for banking institutions.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel; experience with digital asset accounting platforms is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
