Job Overview

In partnership with the UC Health academic healthcare system and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, College of Medicine’s doctors are transforming the world of medicine every day.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is a top-tier department with world-renowned faculty and staff.

The Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) comprises fellowship-trained subspecialists and fellows in training who care for mothers and unborn fetuses with complex pregnancy related conditions.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is seeking a Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) physician for the Dayton, Ohio office.

Candidates should have an interest in academic medicine and developing an active clinical practice. Faculty rank will be commensurate with experience and candidate background.

Essential Functions

  • Main responsibilities are for clinical care.
  • Possible opportunities for quality improvement, community outreach, teaching activities for OBGYN residents and fellows, and research at Kettering and University of Cincinnati Health facilities.
  • Additional opportunities for career development include administrative and leadership roles, peer supervision, and formal mentorship.
  • Join a practice of 2 full-time MFM physicians.
  • Consultative-based MFM practice at a tertiary referral center.
  • The primary hospital practice location is a teaching institution.
  • Deliveries are performed by local OB staff.
  • Busy outpatient ultrasound practice with multiple sites.
  • Conduct and teach assigned undergraduate and / or graduate-level courses and seminars.
  • Attend meetings, participate in governance, prepare materials for teaching.
  • Evaluate and develop curriculum for department and / or college.
  • Serve as an academic adviser for students and evaluate student coursework.
  • Serve on college or university committees and participate in curriculum development activities.
  • Serve on graduate committees, supervise laboratories (where appropriate), independent study activities, and off-campus learning.
  • Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of his or her responsibilities.
  • Render service to the professional or lay community which is relevant to the individual’s academic specialty.
  • Review, and where necessary, respond in a timely manner to all University-related communications.

Minimum Requirements

  • MD / DO or equivalent
  • Completion of a board-certified Obstetrics & Gynecology residency program.
  • Completion of Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellowship training.
  • Candidate must be eligible for a medical license in the State of Ohio. Unrestricted medical license must be obtained before hire date.
  • Board certification or Board eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology and in Maternal Fetal Medicine is required. Candidates will be expected to be fully boarded in both within five years.
