About The Position
Job Title : Physician Job Specialty : Neonatology Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 24-hour call Guaranteed Hours : Not specified Experience : Minimum years not specified;
substantial recent experience in neonatology required License : Active California License required Certifications : BLS, NRP, DEA Must-Have : Board Certified or Eligible in Neonatal / Perinatal Medicine- Listed as a paneled member of California Children Services (CCS) or flexibility due to urgent dates- Clean malpractice history- Availability details at time of name clear Job Description : Provide 24-hour call coverage, including NICU rounds at least once daily and responding to calls from nursing staff.
- Required procedures include ventilatory assistance, nasal CPAP, surfactant administration, administration of cardiac pressors, and several other neonatology-specific tasks.
- Participate in orientation on the business day before the shift starts in the afternoon.- Cover scheduled shifts on specific dates : October 25-27, November 27-30 (including Thanksgiving), December 24-26 (including Christmas), and December 30-31 (New Year's Eve).
- Supervise and teach Family Practice Residents on Nursery rotation and collaborate with NICU nurses, laborists, and pediatric hospitalists.
- No APP support will be provided.- Expected to handle a NICU patient daily census between 7-12.- Work with Cerner electronic medical records system.
- Credentialing process takes about 30 days if eligible for temporary / locum tenens privileges. Must be on active staff at a TJC-accredited facility with unrestricted privileges.
