Job Summary :
To assist in directing the activities of the Biomedical Department in maintaining the integrity of the hospital biomedical equipment to assure the efficient and safe operation of the hospital.
Principle Duties :
The following is a summary of the major functions of this individual's job.
1. Demonstrates commitment to the corporate compliance, quality, philosophy and values of Baptist Health Louisville by maintaining established policies and procedures;
organizational objectives; continuous quality improvement; quality assessment and safety standards.
2. Assures compliance with all laws, regulations, and guidelines of federal and state programs with an emphasis on prevention of fraud, waste and abuse.
3. Develops and implements new methods and techniques to increase department efficiency and improve quality of services.
4. Assist Manager with interviewing, screening, and selection process of qualified employees to maintain adequate staffing.
5. Provide input on annual performance evaluations of biomedical associates.
6. Counsel employees concerning adherence to hospital and departmental policies and administer disciplinary action as necessary.
7. Follow hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
8. Carry out special projects as assigned by the Manager of Biomedical.
9. Schedule both preventative maintenance and general assignments to meet hospital needs on a daily basis.
10. Submit purchase orders for both routine and urgent supplies with in confounds of the operational budget.
11. Monitor shop functions and associate working conditions for compliance with OSHA safety guidelines.
12. Develop and implement department policy and procedures to comply with current regulatory agency as they pertain to the facility and infection control measures.
Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required :
High school diploma or equivalent required
Five years’ experience in healthcare of related field.
Associate of Applied Science Degree in Electronic Engineering.
Must be familiar with regulatory agencies related to healthcare.
Should have a basic understanding of database type computer maintenance management system and general understanding of computer systems
