Role Summary

This position is to provide technical expertise in regards to electric vehicle power management design.They will support the localized electrical vehicle projects by interacting with local suppliers and lead developers in Germany while reviewing designs against market requirements to ensure our local needs are achieved.

Role Responsibilities :

Local Electric Vehicle Development (75%)

  • Ensure deep technical understanding of current products planned for North American Region
  • Identify potential gaps to ensure market requirements are included for products delivered to and built within the Region
  • Maintain technical review of all current and future competitor products within our market to ensure our products and requested changes align with the requirements of the vehicles in our local market
  • Perform deep level technical analysis of components and vehicle design to ensure market requirements

Locally Produced Electric Vehicle Development Support (25%)

  • Provide development support for the power distribution localization by working with local suppliers and lead designers to ensure design requirements are met or necessary design changes are implemented
  • Development support for local production (manufacturing, quality, logistics, purchasing, etc.) for the electric vehicles assembled in Chattanooga

Qualifications

Qualifications :

Years of Experience :

5+ years of experience with electrical power distribution development

Education Required :

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

Education Desired :

Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering

Skills :

  • Analytical and conceptual thinking using logic and reason, creative and strategic
  • Highly organized and good time management
  • Communication skills interpersonal, presentation and written
  • Computer savvy skilled in the use of software
  • Integration joining people, processes or systems
  • Influencing and negotiation skills
  • Resource management
  • German and / or Spanish skills written and verbal are advantageous

Specialized Skills Required :

  • Development experience with high voltage power management for electric vehicles
  • Automotive development experience

Specialized Skills Desired :

  • High voltage powertrain design experience
  • High voltage battery experience
  • Electric vehicle / component manufacturing experience

Work Flexibility :

  • Frequent travel to the local suppliers
  • Occasional travel to Volkswagen AG in Germany to review project design, higher level of travel expected initially to build network and information
