Position Focus :
The Associate Director, High Net Worth serves as a subject matter expert in high net worth research and a senior strategist and campus liaison in the development of prospect identification and research strategies for high net worth prospects and VIP donors in conjunction with campus-wide fund-raising initiatives.
Essential duties include : Manages the high net worth segment at Yale University by identifying, investigating, analyzing, organizing, and evaluating information on high net worth individuals yielded from a variety of sources to determine a donor prospect’s financial capacity, ability to give, philanthropic interests, and relationship to the University.
Partners and supports the Director of Principal Gifts, Director of Friends Philanthropy, Director of Parent Giving and Director of International along with the Director of Prospect Development to determine prospect development strategy in supporting these four high net worth areas.
Advises the various School and Unit deans and directors of development providing support on their high net worth donors and prospects.
Devises research and strategies to identify new prospective high net worth donors. Uses specialized electronic resources to gather and analyze information and work with confidential as well as publicly accessible information, with a view to assessing donor interest and alignment with the University.
Develops focused research profiles, prospect lists, identifies networks and analysis of philanthropic interests for fundraising staff on high net worth individuals.
Communicates complex information in an easily digestible and neutral fashion. Participates in planning long and short-term development strategies with the frontline teams who work with high net worth individuals to solicit funds and meet department fundraising targets.
Identify and leverage in house and external resources to assess donors and volunteers. Assesses client needs, manages own schedule.
Cross trains prospect development analysts in high net worth and serves as a mentor in the area of high net worth to prospect development analysts.
Essential Duties

Manages an area of focus within Prospect Development, assisting with setting team goals and serving as subject matterexpert, advising clients, and ensuring that the team is assessing and responding to client needs Focus, plan, and direct work in support of the overall Collaborates with and supports the Director of Prospect Development to ensure the establishment and use ofcomprehensive prospect development Utilizes advanced research tools and methodologies to identify and evaluate potential donors and their gifts, includingalumni, parents, friends, foundations, and Analyzes financial publications and corporate disclosures to deepen relationships with current donors and to identify newdonor prospects to build a robust University donor Writes donor prospect briefings for the development Participates in team planning of long-term and short-term development strategies to solicit funds and meet departmentfundraising Fosters a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Hires assess and supervises staff within theirarea of focus, overseeing work / workflow and setting standards and goals for the Keeps abreast of industry trends and best practices, incorporating those trends and practices into the team’s May perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree and five years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Strong proficiency in utilizing prospect research tools and databases.
