AWS EC2 Nitro Local Storage is building the foundation of cloud local instance storage platforms at scale. We power customer workloads across industry from startups through the Fortune 500 enterprises.
We provide a virtualized hardware-accelerated instance storage solutions for EC2 instances. instance types. Our solutions are designed for workloads that require high, read and write access to very large data sets on local storage such as relational and NoSQL databases, analytics, search engines, and data warehousing.
We are looking for a passionate software engineer to develop and operate our EC2 local storage fleet. As part of this role you will be working across EC2 Teams building and operating storage and compute instances, develop tools and services to enhance our fleet observability and software quality, as well as automating any required remediation.
You will design and implement new services to scale our fleet and enable new instances. You will also work closely mentoring other engineers and influence product roadmaps for our customers.

What You'll Bring to the Role

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 7+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 7+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
