Description
We are looking for Class A CDL Truck Drivers to join the R.E. Monks Concrete Team.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Ability to safely and professionally operate a Semi-Truck in combination with (1) Belly Dump, 2 (End Dump), (3) Flatbed, (4) Bulk Trailers.
- Operation of equipment must be in accordance with the rules and / or regulations established by local, state and federal agencies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Prepare documents, logs, and reports as required
- Fuel Vehicle
- Work overtime if necessary within legal guidelines
- Perform minor adjustment and maintenance schedule
- Secure and monitor equipment and loads
- Tarp and un-tarp each load
- Maintain a clean truck and trailer
- Use hand tools as needed (i.e. shovel, broom, and hammer)
Qualifications
- Minimum 21 Years of Age
- Ability to pass and maintain pre employment and random drug screenings in accordance with the rules established by the Department of Transportation (DOT)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical
- Ability to pass work history verification
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Positive & Safe Work History
- Reliable means of transportation to and from assigned projects
- Requires full range of body motion including handling and operating levers or controls
- Climbing, manual and finger dexterity including eye-hand coordination
- Use of foot controls and pedals
- Requires good or corrected vision and hearing within normal range
- Requires working under stressful conditions
- Requires ability to operate large equipment in rough terrain
- Ability to follow directions
- Ability to understand and follow safety guidelines
CDL Qualifications
- Must have a valid commercial driver's license (CDL Class A)
- Required to provide photocopy of your driver's license so a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) can be obtained from DAC Service
- Verifiable good driving history for the past three years No DWI in past three years No failure to stop / report an accident No more than two speeding tickets in one year No making false accident reports No homicide, manslaughter or assault arising from the use of a vehicle No driving while license is suspended / revoked
- Ability to provide a current copy of your medial certificate and physical examination form
- Ability to pass the company road test
- Verifiable employment history for the past ten years for which he / she operated a commercial motor vehicle
- Endorsements for tanker, doubles, hazardous materials will be a positive attribute for the applicant
Working Conditions
- Frequent exposure to rain, sleet, snow, dust, mud, heat, cold, noise and other conditions common to a construction site
- May require irregular hours, out-of-town work, overnight stays, nights, weekends and holidays
- May require working in safe trench conditions
Education and Experience
- Minimum high school diploma or GED
- Preference for individuals with experience in Heavy Civil Construction
