Job Description Under supervision of the Banquet Manager and Assistant Banquet Manager, the Banquet Captain analyzes banquet event orders (BEOs) to accurately execute events through knowledge and hotel standards.
Reviews daily and weekly communications to determine staffing levels as related to banquets and meeting space requirements.
Maintains a strong presence on the floor before, during and after banquet functions to ensure standards are being met. Assists with proper set-up and tear down of events, breaks and bars.
Aids in hiring and coaching of full time and student staff as needed to maintain adequate staffing levels. Maintains inventory of supplies to meet projected needs and requisition additional supplies as needed.
Assists in office responsibilities such as but not limited to scheduling, billing and payroll. The Blackwell Inn is a 24 / 7 operation, as such, this position will operate with a flexible schedule and will require some evening, holiday, and weekend hours.
Minimum Education Required High School diploma or GED. Certification or vocational training may be required. Associate degree in relevant field may be preferred.
2 years of relevant experience required. 4-6 years of relevant experience preferred. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Hotel and banquet experience as well as supervisory experience desired. FUNCTION : Food Service SUB-FUNCTION : Food Service CAREER BAND : Technical CAREER LEVEL : T3 The pay range for this position is $15.
29 - $20.41 (min - mid). The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's education and experience.
This position qualifies for overtime, shift and weekend differential and gratuities.
