Alta Southwest (Phoenix and Tucson) is seeking energetic and highly motivated engineering interns to join our team in both our Phoenix and Tucson locations.
The ideal candidate will have a technical background / education in geotechnical, civil, geological, environmental, mechanical engineering, construction or related field.

Alta Southwest is a full-service Engineering, Surveying, and Construction Material Testing Company. We have partnered with the most reputable and knowledgeable architects, developers, building contractors, institutions, and government agencies.
Alta Southwest provides performance driven solutions throughout the asset life cycle, from concept to decommissioning. These projects have primarily been in the Phoenix and Tucson metropolitan areas but have included other locations in the State of Arizona.

Responsibilities and Expectations :
- Travel to and Perform field sampling or testing
- Collect and classify soil samples for geotechnical investigations
- Perform Phase I Environmental Site Assessments
- Assist in preparing technical reports
- Ability to work on a team or independently on less complex projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Clean driving record and the ability to pass a drug test required
Preferred Competencies
- Ability to adhere to safety standards and practices
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Organization skills
- Results oriented and strong attention to detail
Physical Demands
Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and may be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day.
Qualifications :
Currently enrolled in college or recent graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical, Civil, Geological Engineering or related field.
Must have a valid drivers license and be able to drive to our project sites.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
