As a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff (DMTS) for Micron’s Storage Business Unit’s (SBU) Solutions Architecture team, you will work with the Sr.
Director Storage Solutions Architecture and work with the architecture team to envision the future of our technology inside and outside the company!
Your primary focus will be leading Micron’s storage standards engagement strategy. You will collaborate with other architects and key business unit leaders to align and achieve standardization goals! You will help understand customer and partner needs, identify future technology trends, and evaluate system-level benefits and behaviors and how storage affects them.
You will engage with other elements of the ecosystem ranging from Open Source software ecosystems to silicon partners to drive forward the future of Micron’s Storage Products.
The role is agile, fast-paced, and works closely with business, R&D, and technology teams in Micron.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Industry
Take on leadership roles at industry organizations and standards bodies. Contribute to key industry standards technical working groups personally or by proxy from other Micron technical specialists.
Present publicly on Micron’s behalf.
Recommend and regularly update Micron’s SBU leaders and other collaborators on industry activities such as standards groups, joint programs with universities and industry, technical conferences, and other forums to help understand and influence the market directions and key players.
Be a source of information on advanced technology, architecture, and system trends in the industry.
Market
Provide strategy and manage implementation of new technology-enabling activities.
Perform an objective analysis of a potential market opportunity to provide a basis for investment.
Maintain strong technical relationships with customers and partner system architects and technologists to identify new innovative products.
Competitive Landscape
Be a resource for advanced technology, architecture trends in the market, and competitive landscapes for the business unit.
Understand the competitive landscape in standards and other organizational bodies. Provide inputs to the strategy for winning against the competition.
Roadmap Requirements
Assist in product definition by providing inputs on new feature definition as required for customer and industry adoption, feature, and form factor enablement.
Work with engineering teams to find innovative ways to provide leadership storage solutions.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
15+ years of experience in engineering. Previous experience with industry standards required.
Proven educational or professional experience to qualify for a senior technology leadership position typically this will include a degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or Computer Science, an MBA is a plus, and proven successful industry leadership experience is a must.
Technical Leadership experience driving adoption of new solid state storage features
Understanding how memory and storage products impact system performance for a range of workloads
Detailed knowledge of PCIe and NVMe interfaces
Detailed knowledge of NAND flash and solid state drives
Solid understanding of storage device security protocols
Solid understanding of enterprise workload profiles and performance validation techniques
Solid understanding of AI / ML infrastructure
Solid understanding of cloud, storage, and compute software stacks such as Linux, Windows, VMWare, Kubernetes, OpenStack
Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
Good interpersonal skills.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is :
$195, - $392,
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations.
Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.
