Description
This position is responsible for the overall planning, development and oversight of the Trauma Injury Prevention Program.
Responsible for compliance with the American College of Surgeons requirements Trauma Center verification for injury prevention.
This includes working with the Trauma Program Manager to identify major causes of injury in this community, and developing comprehensive outreach, education, and prevention programs to address these.

Work Hours / Shift
Full time 40 hours, primarily Mon-Fri dayshift, but will include some evening and weekend work hours to accommodate meetings and events to help the community and the population we serve.
You Will Be Responsible For
Exceptional Patient Care : Coordinate the Injury Prevention Program(s) for Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center Trauma Program.
Excellent Communicator : Conducts community education programs for diverse populations and coordinate responses to request for injury prevention information.
Strong Educator : Serve as a resource to nursing staff, pre-hospital personnel, and other outside personnel related to trauma care and injury prevention education.
Acts as a liaison to other hospitals and community groups related to trauma prevention
and outreach.
Technical Familiarity : Develop brochures, audiovisual aids and presentation handouts.
Active Teamwork : Recognizes the value and contribution of fellow employees as demonstrated by cooperation and teamwork.
Requirements
- Registered nurse with active CT RN license, BSN required, MSN preferred or Master’s degree required in social work or related field
- Minimum three (3) years experience in injury prevention, community outreach, public health, emergency department or trauma care unit.
- Highly motivated with exceptional interpersonal skills. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computer systems and computer devices (personal computers, terminals, and printers), public speaking.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and be self-directed
