Job Title : Applications Developer
Department : Engineering Computer Science and Engineering
- designing, testing, debugging, and tuning of the high-performance and scalable Message Passing Libraries (MVAPICH2), High-Performance Big Data libraries, and High-Performance Deep Learning Libraries for high-end computing Linux clusters using advanced networking technologies such as InfiniBand and other RDMA-enabled interconnects and accelerators (such as NVIDIA and AMD GPGPUs);
- primary responsibilities include : designing and testing software components and modules on various platforms, debugging the failures, tuning various parameters of the software stack, performance regression;
- generating RPMs for the libraries with various Operating Systems and drivers; designing various test procedures and enhancing testing infrastructures to test out functionality, performance, tuning and scalability of the libraries;
carry out software quality assurance steps in the release cycles; secondary responsibilities (typical for open-source and production software packages) include : working together with the project team members in handling critical bugs, maintaining trac entries of reported bugs and providing technical support to the world-wide users and organizations using these software packages through mvapich- mailing list, etc.
Qualifications
Required :
Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in computer & information science;
2 years of experience.
extensive skills on C, C++, Python and Linux (kernels, file systems and drivers); knowledge on modern computing and networking technologies and their trends;
experience with programming / scripting
Desired :
excellent interpersonal skills; willingness to learn new systems, technologies and tools.
Additional Information :
The target hiring range for this job profile is $64,300 - 84,550. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
