Soliant needs a experienced and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our highly-rated IB school in Austin, TX, for the 2024-2025 school year.
This full-time position focuses on 9th-grade inclusion, catering to students with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD) and Autism.
The ideal candidate will have experience in lead teaching within a special education setting and will be responsible for managing a small caseload of 9th-grade students, with opportunities to assist in similar age classrooms as needed.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for 9th-grade students with SLD and Autism.
- Provide direct instruction and support in an inclusion setting.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to support student learning and development.
- Monitor and track student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student goals.
- Assist in other classrooms with similar age students as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school and state requirements.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid Texas teaching license with a special education endorsement.
- Experience working with students with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD) and Autism.
- Proven experience as a lead teacher in a special education setting.
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment.
