BASIC FUNCTION

The Assistant Athletic Facilities Operations Manager will assist the Athletic Director for Facilities, Operations and Intramurals by coordinating, supervising and maintaining all athletic facilities, equipment, uniforms and supervising athletic facility staff and student workers.

Perform the duties and responsibilities of this role at all times in a fashion that supports the college's commitment to creating an academic institution where a variety of persons and perspectives are welcome, as well as to providing an environment where students from all cultures and backgrounds may succeed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with supervising, training, and scheduling student workers.
  • Assist with the coordination of facility set-up and game day operations
  • Assist with facilitates daily usage and operations of the athletic facilities.
  • Assists with laundry for athletic teams and fitness center.
  • Evaluates and maintains athletic facilities and equipment
  • Assist with maintenance for fitness area machines, equipment, washers and dryers.
  • Handles other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Interest in sports and / or sports facility management.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and to handle the stress of working with deadlines.
  • Ability to serve various constituencies by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with fellow employees, staff, faculty, coaches and the Guilford Community.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends required.
  • Should be proficient in IMLeagues and When2Work software.
  • Must be certified in First Aid and CPR.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in sports or business management.
  • Knowledge of methods and principles of public recreation and safety practices concerning the operation of an athletic workout facility.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to lift 50 pounds and walk up and down stairs.
