About The Position
Weekly Pay Range - $730 To $811 Job Title : Sign Shop Laborer Job Specialty : Staff Augmentation Job Duration : Until October / November, with potential for one long-term position Shift : Day 6 : 00 AM-3 : 00 PM Guaranteed Hours : Not specified Experience : Minimum of 3 months in relevant fields License : Not specified Certifications : Not specified Must-Have : - Training or experience in sheet metal work and operation of related equipment- Training or experience in industrial safety practices- Formal education in arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, fractions, ruler reading, and percentages Job Description : Perform all tasks related to the fabrication, production, and distribution of highway signs - Produce sign blanks from aluminum or salvaged material - Utilize computer systems and perform reclamation activities - Apply reflective sheeting and assemble and fabricate all extruded signs - Conduct silk screen activities, blueprint reading, layout duties, and silk screen fabrication - Sort, stack, load, and unload materials - Operate various equipment and maintain safety standards - Use forklifts, shear machines, punch press, squeeze roll applicators, and silkscreen equipment - Operate radial arm, band, and table saws, drill press, hand tools, and overhead crane - Use appropriate safety equipment such as respirators, masks, and gloves- Maintain quality control across all processes - Establish order and priority of sign orders - Produce special projects like banners, decals, and signage- Perform miscellaneous related duties - Maintain inventory control of materials - Clean and maintain the shop area Major Worker Characteristics : Knowledge of industrial safety practices and mathematics, including fractions, decimals, and percentages- Skill in silk screen printing processes and sheet metal work- Ability to read and understand blueprints, solve everyday problems, demonstrate manual dexterity, and maintain accurate records
