The nurse clinical program coordinator will be responsible for providing daily support to the hospitalist medicine program and the physicians.
This position will assist with patient care needs for the physicians, including calling in prescriptions, making discharge phone calls and rounding on patients.
This position will work closely with the clinical program coordinator.
Position Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited institution. BSN preferred.
- Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse license required.
Experience
- Two or more years of hospital nursing experience required.
- ICU nursing experience preferred.

- Effectively works with the teammates to ensure tasks are completed timely and efficiently.
- Motivated self-starter who can carry projects through with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail to create quality and accurate work.
- Displays professional behavior at all times.
- Ability to prioritize the hospitalist medicine program needs and effectively escalate them as needed.
- Strong proficiency with Google Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Job Responsibilities
- Calls in prescriptions for patients on behalf of the physicians.
- Completes discharge phone calls to patients.
- Manages pharmacy faxes and requests.
- Completes rounding on patients at Wesley Medical Center and Woodlawn to prepare patients for discharge.
- Takes minutes for meetings and assist with meeting preparation.
- Provides daily support to the hospitalist medicine program.
- Field questions from pharmacies, mortuaries, etc. and appropriately fills out forms for death certificates and billing requests.
- Coordinates with hospitalist providers and R1 to complete documentation accurately and timely.
- Acts as a liaison between community PCPs and the hospitalist team.
- Handles patient / pharmacy calls and directs to appropriate personnel if necessary.
- Coordinates with R1 on any billing issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
Compensation
Starting at $28 / hour.
