Job Summary :
North Logan City is seeking a creative and motivated Social Media Marketing / Public Relations Intern to join our team. This paid internship offers an exciting opportunity to promote the professional brand of North Logan City as it undergoes immense growth.
We are looking for an individual who can increase our professional presence on social media, make municipality related information more accessible to the public, and bolster our connection with the community.
This would include promoting Green Canyon High School and local businesses, engaging with the community through our Citizen Highlight initiative, contributing to various marketing initiatives, and presenting creative ways to bolster our connection with the community.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for social media marketing, strong communication and writing skills, and a desire to support our community's vibrant spirit.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop brand definition, personality, values, positioning, colors, logo, etc.
- Create and design promotional materials (swag) for city employees and local citizens
- Post regularly about community events, highlighting GCHS student / program achievements and local engagement
- Assist in designing the new North Logan City website, ensuring a user-friendly experience
- Promote Green Canyon High School athletics through engaging content on social media platforms, primarily Facebook and Instagram
- Monitor social media engagement and provide insights for increased engagement
- Collaborate in brainstorming sessions to develop new marketing strategies and campaigns
Qualifications :
- Current undergraduate student or recent graduate in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field
- Experience with Canva, multiple Al softwares, Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom
- Experience managing social media pages for organizations in the past-familiar with social media platforms, especially Facebook and Instagram
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Basic design skills (experience with graphic design tools is a plus).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently
- A passion for community engagement is preferred
Compensation :
Paid internship at $15 / hour, part-time (10-15 hours per week) with flexible scheduling to accommodate classes
