The Central Admissions Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all activities of the admission process from the point of referral to completing patient profiles and entering orders.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES :
To perform this job, an individual must accomplish each essential function satisfactorily, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Complete the admission process in accordance with approved policies and procedures
- Record and maintain a wait list for each assigned facility
- Communicate special needs related to patient care with facility prior to admission
- Perform a daily census check through electronic medical records (EMR) for assigned facilities
- Place medication orders in draft form within EMR
- Send medication orders to pharmacy on behalf of facility
- Attach referral documents to patient’s EMR profile
- Place patient directly in patient bed after clinical and financial status is completed
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor
JOB REQUIREMENTS :
- Maintain privacy and confidentiality of records, conditions, and other information relating to patients, employees and the facility
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

QUALIFICATIONS :
Experience :
o 2 years of related experience preferred
o Healthcare experience strongly preferred
License / Certification / Education :
o Associate degree in nursing
o LPN or RN license in the state where the facility is located
o Complete continuing education as required to maintain certification / licensure
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Does not have supervisory responsibilities
- Occasionally needs manager’s direction due to extraordinary circumstances
WORKING CONDITIONS :
- Audio-Visual : Good

- Ability to lift to 15 pounds
- Subject to standing, walking, sitting
- Work is typically performed in a standard office environment; well-lit; comfortable temperature-controlled
- Above-average conversational noise is frequent

- Travel may be required
