SUMMARY
The Corporate Security Investigative Manager will be responsible for leading the efforts of the First Horizon Corporate Security Investigations department, which will include the management of internal and external fraud case data and oversight of the investigative process to ensure compliance and consistency.
The candidate will be responsible for high profile case investigations and regulatory activities as well as manage the investigative department strategic planning initiatives.
The candidate must have analytical skills to interpret quantitative and qualitative information to achieve departmental objectives and produce effective solutions for continuous process improvement.
This position should be able to work in a collaborative team setting, and independently with limited supervision, and will perform other projects and duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Investigate high profile internal and external fraud cases, prepare fact-based reports outlining recommended actions and control improvements or breakdowns, and present findings to senior management.
- Monitor investigative case flow and activity, ensure timely handling and resolving of fraudulent investigations and other assigned security-related initiatives adhering to department policies and standards.
- Strong understanding of various fraud types and expert-level of understanding of laws related to fraud investigations, breach of warranty and hold harmless process, claims management, and chargeback rules, and ID theft red flags rule requirements and the tools / methods used to perpetrate them.
- Analyze data from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and potential risks associated with fraud. Perform in-depth data analysis by tracking performance metrics and developing operational reporting with quality assurance oversight.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and create efficiencies for continuous process improvement. Perform management functions, such as validating investigative process workflows in the corporate security manual and ensuring responses to client complaints are timely and appropriate.
- Establish the long-term investigative framework and strategic plan to properly structure department staffing and case routing models.
- Partner with LOD fraud risk management to ensure case data is analyzed and interpreted to detect patterns or trends that may indicate fraudulent behavior.
- Identify and escalate fraud risk-related issues to management. Collaborate with leaders of bank departments, such as LOD and LOD risk management and compliance, to aid in the development and implementation of strategies to prevent fraudulent activities and enhance overall security and risk mitigation efforts.
- Establish relationships with executive management and regional bank leaders. Serve as a subject matter expert for the Corporate Security department, facilitate executive meetings and provide guidance or recommendations, as needed.
- Maintain knowledge and experience in security compliance regulations, ensure SARs are completed timely, and certify investigations-related SOX and key controls in the GRC application.
Adhere to risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with the bank’s risk appetite.
- Investigate improper conduct or violation of company policies and regulations involving associates and / or clients and / or affiliates.
- Develop and implement client and associate fraud awareness initiatives, including education, prevention, best practices, detection, and response programs by method of formal training and through various platforms with other functional areas.
- Foster relationships and represent First Horizon amongst law enforcement, industry groups and regulatory agencies.
- Perform management responsibilities which include hiring talented team members, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing associates, and completing daily management tasks.
Support the Corporate Security Regional Investigative Managers and provide direction to the team of Corporate Security Investigators.
- Provide professional guidance across a broad range of security issues, at all levels including physical security and executive protection.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directly responsible for directing, coordinating, and evaluating designated units or certain personnel in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance;
providing pay change recommendations; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Additionally, the qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and / or abilities required in this position :
- Bachelor (-year college) degree required; graduate degree preferred.
- Minimum + years of experience in risk management, investigations, and fraud case management, with a focus on fraud prevention, detection, investigations, building robust fraud programs, tracking and reporting of fraud losses to all levels of management, including regulatory reporting required.
- Strong sense of urgency and accountability, ability to execute in a high-pressure and time-sensitive environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills required.
- Able to take and provide direction, multi-task, and quickly adapt to shifting priorities.
- Exercise latitude in determining functional and technical objectives of an assignment.
- May be required to work weekends and / or extended hours.
COMPUTER AND OFFICE EQUIPMENT SKILLS
- Microsoft Office suite
- Proven experience with a leading Corporate Security case management system.
- Experience with fraud detection software, data analytics tools, and risk assessment methodologies.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS (Ex : CPA, Series or license, etc)
- Industry certification, such as a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), is required.
- Investigative interview skills, such as the Reid Technique, is preferred.
