System Development Engineer, AWS Public Sector Industry Products and Solutions Engineering

AWS Public Sector Industry Products and Solutions Engineering is looking for a world-class System Development Engineer to design and automate AWS infrastructure as part of our products and solutions for government, education, nonprofit, and healthcare customers.

This is an early career position for candidates with 0-2 years of experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure automation, security, and DevOps.

Key job responsibilities

As a System Development Engineer, you must design, develop, test, and deploy well-architected cloud infrastructure using Python, TypeScript, and the AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK).

You must be able to dive deep into the details on operations and engineering. You will have a lot of ownership and autonomy, and we need leaders that are able to look at problems in new ways, inventing simple solutions to complex problems.

A day in the life

You will work with the product manager, the software development manager, customers, solutions architects, and your system and software development colleagues to deliver high-quality systems and infrastructure to drive innovation globally in the public sector using AWS.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
• Experience tools for automation (building, testing, releasing or monitoring)
• Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting infrastructure

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with CI / CD pipelines build processes
• Knowledge of and proficiency in the use of Python scripting language
• Knowledge of Linux fundamentals
• Knowledge and proficiency in the TypeScript language and the AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK)
