A hospice based in Brooklyn, NY is seeking an experienced Controller.
Responsibilities :
- Develops, analyzes, and interprets statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of net assets available for benefits, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization.
- Ensure adequate financial controls are in place
Qualifications :
- Prior Controller experience is required
- Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state / national regulations
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Must have prior experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Reconciliation, Finance, and general bookkeeping
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software, Sage preferred or QuickBooks
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent attention to detail and accuracy, and strong organizational and time management skills
