Senior Software Engineer

In this role you will design and develop highly engaging front-end experiences that will delight Walmart in-store customers by helping them shop and checkout quickly from their mobile App.

You will enhance our capabilities to support continuous integration / continuous deployment, app-automation while championing best practices for software development and operational excellence.

About Team :

Our team creates reusable technologies to help with customer acquisition, onboarding, and empowering merchants, while ensuring a seamless experience for both of these stakeholders.

We also optimize tariffs and assortment in accordance with Walmart's Everyday Low Cost philosophy. We not only create affordability, but we also deliver customized experiences for customers across all channels - in-store, mobile app, and websites.

What you'll do :

• Design and develop features in the Walmart Shopping App that allow customers to checkout using Scan & Go.
• Champion best practices for software development, automation and operational excellence.
• Lead feature development and guide junior team members.

What you'll bring :

• More than 5 years of software development experience delivering mobile applications in the space of retail / e-commerce.
• Mastery in Kotlin development in Android.
• Experience creating operational dashboards / alarms / data-visualizations using telemetry.
• Experience using mobile automation frameworks to scale testing.

Minimum Qualifications :

Option 1 : Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Option 2 : 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Preferred Qualifications :

Customer Service, We value candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.

2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of accessibility best practices and join us as we continue to create accessible products and services following Walmart’s accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.

Masters : Computer Science.
