We are seeking a Senior Configuration Management Analyst who is highly skilled and motivated to support the continued development and sustainment of the U.
S. Navy's Aegis Weapons System (AWS) in Moorestown, New Jersey.
Roles / Responsibilities :
- Must comprehend and follow complex work procedures to install programs for Unix, Linux, Vax, and Uyk-43 environments. Can record and analyze installation metrics.
- Will provide documentation for the detailed release of computer program software configurations specified by Program Management, Configuration Management, and / or Quality Assurance.
Position is at a nearby customer (off-site) location.
Provide advice and guidance on methods, procedures, and requirements to individuals responsible for the installation and maintenance of computer programs.
Plan and implement methods for process improvement and trouble-shooting technical issues.
Daily work is performed without appreciable direction at a customer off-site laboratory. Has latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment.
Completed work is used and reviewed over a large time span period - six months to one year.
Participate in setting critical goals and milestones to meet major objectives of the organization. Provide solutions to daily problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
Problems are broadly defined, and solutions require the continuation of specialized experience and knowledge.
Will be trained to represent the organization as the prime customer contact on contracts and projects at multiple world-wide sites.
Interact with senior customer personnel on significant technical matters, often requiring coordinated activity across organizational lines.
- Will require shift work (10 : 00 - 18 : 00) in the evenings, as well as occasional overtime and weekend work.
- Bachelor degree in a software technical field or equivalent related work experience
- US citizenship in order to obtain and hold a secret clearance
- 5-7 years of experience in software installation, deployment, and trouble-shooting
- Working knowledge of Unix / Linux, VAX, and Windows
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, Project, and Word
- Good organizational skills, ability to multi-task, good problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Expertise in installing and maintaining Unix and Legacy programs and systems for multiple run-time environments.
- Ability to communicate clearly and maintain good working relationship with peers and Customers of all technical levels at a Customer site
- Provide and analyze Documentation and Metrics of all work steps and product releases
- May develop standards and processes for team use, and train junior staff in the use of Installation processes and procedures
- Specific experience supporting Naval Weapon Systems a plus.
