MAJOR FUNCTION :

• Wash and store dishes, pots, and pans
• Maintain cleanliness of all dish washing areas
• Sweep kitchen floor after each meal
• Sweep and mop dining room floor
• Empty trash
• Mop kitchen floor after last meal of the day
• Clean and maintain outside trash and mop storage
• Assist the Food Service Director and / or Sous Chef and / or cooks in any duties as requested in an order to maintain a high level of efficiency in the kitchen operation
• Assist the Food Service Director and / or Sous Chef and / or cooks with preparing food items for meal service as time allows
• Other duties may be assigned based on business needs

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

• Sets up dish stations, including dish machines and sinks
• Maintains clean / dry floors throughout the shift
• Changes water of machines and sinks every two hours, or more often as required
• Assists in the timely storing of food deliveries
• Ensures the cleanliness and sanitization of dishes, tableware, glassware, pots, pans and utensils through manual and machine cleaning methods.
• Keeps dishwashing and three sink area clean and safe.
• Contributes to the team environment of the kitchen

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
• Restaurant or customer service experience preferred
• Work experience as a Dishwasher or on Wait Staff preferred
• Hands-on experience with an industrial washing machine preferred
• Ability to obtain and maintain a food handler certification card

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

• Ability of manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; use of vision.
• Ability to drive a vehicle and possess valid CA Drivers license.
• Ability to push / pull / lift / carrying 25-50 pounds and occasionally more than 50 pounds (chairs, tables, beds, food cases, etc.).
• Ability to operate telephone.
• Ability to operate food service / culinary equipment.
• Ability to operate a desktop or laptop computer.
• Ability to understand written information.
