Job Title : Operations Supervisor
Job Description
- Properly welcome, onboard, train, motivate, and retain team members to ensure full staffing levels and promotional opportunities.
- Develop, train, and motivate high potential staff in skilled positions to produce consistency with each line.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and performance discussions to include praising great performance and effectively documenting performance issues and progressive discipline.
- Effectively manage staff from multiple departments : Production, Sanitation, Maintenance, and Quality Assurance.
- Ensure entire staff is complying with safety requirements.
- Complete incident reports when accidents happen, notify appropriate management, and seek medical attention as needed. Determine and communicate root causes.
- Ensure effective and consistent operation of all production lines.
- Complete shift reports and all related documentation at the end of every shift.
- Determine root cause of issues and develop corrective actions to eliminate downtime.
- Communicate production expectations, measure, communicate and manage gaps.
- Ensure adherence to production schedule. Communicate with management and inventory control personnel when schedule must be modified.
- Prepare for change-overs as required to ensure smooth, efficient, effective, and complete changeover in the quickest possible time and eliminate errors / potential for re-work.
- Properly utilize labor resources to improve efficiency, minimize labor expense, and reduce waste.
- Ensure effective communication between all staff and management.
- Review all paperwork throughout shift to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Review and approve all time at the end of shift on a daily basis and address performance concerns, missed punches, in early, short lunch, no lunch, etc.
- Ensure attendance of personnel is completed and forward attendance information to appropriate personnel.
- Ensure only the appropriate number of Team Members are assigned to lines and no excess labor is allowed.
- Develop, train, and maintain leaders and staff in advanced positions to produce consistency with each line and shift.
- Coordinate with maintenance to determine length of downtime and send home temps / employees as needed.
- Initiate investigation and action as needed to report food safety and food quality issues.
- Coordinate with QA to ensure excellent quality is being maintained.
- Ensure customer specifications are being met through testing and immediate reaction.
- Monitor and ensure that all GMP’s, SOP’s, and HACCP are met at all times.
- Ensure Production Floor is SQF ready EVERYDAY.
